Why Verdictly exists
Because the price you see first is almost never the best price available, and almost nobody checks.
The problem
Most people buy expensive things from whichever retailer they happened to land on. The identical laptop, the identical mattress, the identical set of tires sits at four different prices across four different storefronts, and the spread is frequently hundreds of dollars. Checking all four takes twenty minutes nobody has.
Meanwhile the reviews you find are either manufacturer marketing rewritten, or a wall of specifications with no opinion attached. Neither tells you the thing you actually want to know, which is whether to buy it and what you will regret about it in a year.
What we do
We rate products on one consistent scale, write down what is genuinely good and genuinely annoying about each one, and then put every retailer price in a single table sorted cheapest first. Two questions, answered on one page: should I buy this, and where.
We cover the categories where that work pays off — electronics, automotive, home and sleep, software, outdoors and pets. These are the places where the price spread is widest and the decision is hardest.
How we pay for it
Retailers pay us a commission when a reader buys through a link here. You pay the same price either way. We earn broadly the same whichever retailer you pick, which is exactly what allows us to sort the table by price instead of by what pays us most — and to keep reviewing Apple and Google products that pay us nothing at all.
We publish what every partner pays us on the retailers page. Very few comparison sites do that. We think it is the minimum.
What we will not do
No paid placements. No reviews written by brands. No invented testimonials or fake urgency. No burying the disclosure in the footer. If we ever start doing any of it, the site stops being worth reading, and we would rather it stayed worth reading.
