Privacy policy

What we collect

We deliberately collect as little as possible. Specifically:

• Page views and outbound clicks. Which product pages are read and which retailer links are followed, stored with a random session identifier that is not linked to your name, account or email.
• Referring page. The address you arrived from, so we know which pages bring readers.
• Your email address, but only if you personally submit it to a price alert form.

We do not collect your name, your address, your payment details or your location. We do not operate user accounts. We do not run advertising networks or third-party ad trackers on this site.

Cookies and consent

On your first visit we ask whether you accept non-essential cookies. If you reject them, the measurement described above is switched off and no session identifier is stored. Rejecting is one click and is remembered in exactly the same way as accepting. Nothing on this site is gated behind accepting.

Retailers you click through to set their own cookies under their own policies in order to attribute the referral. That happens on their domain, under their control, and their privacy policy governs it. We never receive your order details, only whether a referral converted.

Price alerts

An email address submitted to a price alert is used for exactly one thing: emailing you about that product’s price. We do not add you to a newsletter, we do not sell the address, and we do not share it with the retailer. Ask us and we will delete it.

Your rights

We do not sell or share your personal information, and we never have.

That includes "sharing" as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines it for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is therefore nothing for a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" request to switch off — but if you would like to make one on the record, or you want to exercise any of the rights below, contact us and we will action it within the statutory window.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, obtain a portable copy, or object to processing. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah and the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland have these rights by statute. We honour them for everybody regardless of residency, because operating two standards would be more work than simply doing the right thing once.

Retention

Anonymous view and click records are kept for 24 months so we can see seasonal patterns, then deleted. Price alert emails are kept until the alert fires or you ask us to remove them.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted an email address, tell us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. Verdictly is operated from the United States, and any data we hold is processed there.
