Purple's hyper-elastic polymer grid is not marketing. It collapses under pressure points and supports everywhere else, and it moves air in a way no foam can. For side sleepers with shoulder and hip pain the relief is real.
The feel is unusual and some people never adapt to it. It is also very heavy, and the grid adds cost over comparable foam.
