The CR-V has the larger back seat, the bigger boot and the more composed ride. Honda's hybrid system is smoother in traffic than Toyota's, and the interior is a clear step up in material quality.
Resale trails the RAV4 slightly and the hybrid commands a real premium over the base engine. Cross-shop both and take whichever has the better price on the day, because they are far closer than brand loyalists claim.
