Our review
The M4 Air is the machine most people should buy without thinking much harder about it. No fan, genuinely all-day battery, and enough performance that only sustained video export or heavy compilation will find its limits.
Apple's base storage and memory configurations remain stingy, and upgrading them at purchase is expensive. Retailers below discount the higher configurations far more aggressively than Apple ever does, which is where the real saving is.
