Our review
Nugget ice is soft enough to chew and absorbs whatever it is sitting in, which is why people pay a premium for it. The Opal 2.0 is the only countertop machine that makes the genuine article rather than crushing cubes, and the three-quart side tank keeps it running most of a day without attention.
It needs descaling roughly every two months and output drops noticeably if you skip it. The bin is insulated rather than frozen, so ice left in it melts back into the reservoir and gets remade, which is fine for waste but means it is never full when you forget about it.
